Lazaunhütte: fun meets pleasure
At the Lazaunhütte, a break becomes real quality time, because here you can stop off in the midst of nature and enjoy more than just the mountain air. The Schnalstal Valley offers numerous possibilities in summer and winter and whether you are hiking or walking, tobogganing or skiing – we await you with a place in the sun, as well as various events and a playground for our younger guests. Delicious, funny, Lazaun
As the hut gets closer and closer, the smell of dumplings gets stronger and stronger in your nose and your steps are spurred on by your appetite. Our Lazaun menu is traditionally alpine with a special and regional Adlernest touch. And, of course, our very own Nest Gin is available as a summit schnapps. Cheers, then!

We at Adlernest are constantly trying to reinvent ourselves and are always striving for a breath of fresh air and challenges. That’s why we took over the Lazaunhütte in fall 2021 and would like to add a new place to the long tradition and thus the family soul of our house to give guests from near and far a smile. In summer! Your BBQ with a View
For you, summer means throwing great meat on the barbecue in bright sunshine and drinking a cold beer with your friends? We still have this with a great mountain view. We’ll really heat you and your besties up with our Remundi table grills and you can get started right away with your desired menu. Special and local meat specialties, varied side dishes and spicy sauces await you. But that’s not all, we also have a few delicacies up our sleeve for vegetarians and vegans. IN SUMMER! Cruising rapidly down into the valley
After you’ve been well and truly fed at our hut, you dream about how cool it would be to descend the mountain in style and speed as you gaze into the distance. You don’t have to dream about it, grab one of the mountain carts and off you go on a wild ride down into the valley. Enjoy the wind in your face on the mountain Ferraris and compete with your friends to see who can cover the four kilometers of forest trail first. Already over? Then come and visit us again soon!
You can hire mountain carts from Sportservice Erwin Stricker at the mountain station from June 28 to October 5, on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The return point is the valley station in Kurzras. The mountain carts are available daily from August 11 to 24.
Hiking tip
From Kurzras along trail no. 1 via “Untere Berg Waal” and then turn off onto trail no. 11A to the plateau and Lazaun hut. The way back is via the outward route or trail no. 11 as a circular hike. If you want a bit more action, you can rent a mountain cart (note the rental times) or take a more leisurely ride on the cable car.
Your year outing or stag party
Now it’s getting really cool: You’re looking for a suitable location for your JGA or class party! Then you’ve come to the right place. How about a day at the Ötzi Rope Park high ropes course, followed by a BBQ at 2427m and a descent with the mountain carts? Simply contact us. We are also happy to provide you with a suitable DJ or band.
Schnols Summerfest hike
The “Schnols Summer Festival Hike” will take place again on July 09, 2026. Look forward to a leisurely tour through the Schnals mountain landscape, accompanied by music and the likeable frontman of the Kastelruther Spatzen Norbert Rier. Participation in the hike is free of charge. However, all those who make a donation to the South Tyrolean children’s cancer charity “Peter Pan” will receive a hiking certificate signed by Norbert Rier.
